Description

Three lengths, copy and paste

One line 18 words

Donna's Quest: Rogue is a 2D action roguelike about a real dachshund who dreams she is the knight on TV.

Short 70 words

Donna is a dachshund. Every evening she sits on the couch between her people and watches a knight on TV. Donna's Quest: Rogue is her dream of being that knight: a 2D side-scrolling action roguelike in pixel art with short seeded runs and permadeath. Donna fights through a forest, a castle and a belfry with quick and heavy attacks, dashes, combos and the powers of fire, frost and storm. Made by one person in Zwolle, Netherlands.

Long 170 words

Donna's Quest: Rogue starts in a living room. A couple sits on a red couch watching a knight on TV, and their dachshund Donna sits on the armrest watching too. When she falls asleep, the game begins. In her dream she is the knight.

The game is a 2D side-scrolling action roguelike in pixel art. Each run is a short seeded dream through three places: Moonwatch Forest, Crownfall Castle and Stormglass Belfry. Donna fights rat soldiers, squirrel archers and axe-swinging captains with quick attacks that poke and cancel, heavy attacks that commit, dashes and combos. Elemental powers change what an attack does: fire burns over time, frost slows and shatters, storm chains between enemies. When she falls, the run is over and the next dream starts fresh.

Donna's Quest: Rogue is made by Darius Rosendahl, a solo developer in Zwolle, Netherlands, under his game label FullSpeed Games. Donna is his real dog. The game is in development in GameMaker and is coming to Steam first, with other stores to follow. No release date has been set.
